Blog #7

The movie was not anything that I expected it to be; however, it was interesting to look on the world from a birds point of view. While watching the film, a few things popped into my mind, and one of those things relays back to Shovenhouwer. He says that compassion is extremely important to anything that can suffer. Humans got accused of causing nature to suffer, but when the bird was eating the mous and the worm was the bird causing them to suffer?

This makes me think that any creature on this earth just goes with natural instincts to survive. We cause animals to suffer because we use them as a food source. Other animals cause suffering too, so why are humans considered guilty?

In this movie the humans did not see the bird eating another animal, but if they were to then it would give the anthropocentric believers and arguement. If we see an animal hurting another animal we should think poor animal and rescue that animal. That is not something that I agree with, but some people do think that is what we as humans should do.

This film raises many questions that we have talked about thus far in class. it also ties along with what we have read in Kohaks book. I was very intrigued and had to ask myself the question; what is the right thing to do?
