Like a lot of the other blogs, I found this section harder to understand and not really straightforward like the other sections Kohak has made about the environment and the way we precieve the environment. Even though it was hard to comprehend I still got some meaningful thoughts out of it after reading the section. Kohak presents Naess, a philosopher who takes ecology to a different level. I like the way he presents ecology and whether humans perceive it as shallow or deep. After reading the section, I never really of the only way fixing the environment is through changing humans attitudes and the way they think about the environment. This never really occuurred to me because I would consider myself having a shallow view of ecology and only thinking of using technology to fix the environment.
But after reading Naess' views on a deep ecology, I have come to realize that our attitudes toward the enviroment may be the reasons why we are in an environmental crisis. According to other philosophers, as generations go on the environmental crisis could continue unless our attitudes change. I would agree with the philosophers that being alienated from nature will not help us change the way we see the environment. The only way to change your attitudes toward the environment would be to first change the way you think about yourself and what you believe in about the nature. One needs to appreciate life quality instead of increasing the value of standard living because that will eventually lead to the alienation from nature.
